If youve used the slick "Our Climate" that Apple has idiotically promoted to featured apps, you may come away from it feeling like theres a raging debate going on in the scientific community about whether global warming poses an imminent threat to human civilization. In fact there, is no significant debate among scientists. 95% of scientists believe that we are changing our world to make it less habitable and many will propose that the clear and present danger of global warming is underestimated on average. There are two sides to this debate... there are the liberal-haters with the tinfoil hatters and the corporate free-marketeers propped up by oil and coal PR versus virtually every single climatologist and geophysicist and all the families who care about the well-being of the next generation. If you dont believe this, get the app and see for yourself. Its free, which cant be said for the deceptive and disinformative "Our Climate." It crashes sometimes and the UI could be improved, but at least it will be on the right side of history.

This app is grounded firmly in the science and the evidence. All those that deny climate change and its correlation to human activity are the ones giving this app 1 star. They need to apply their unreasonable standards of proof to their own ignorant stance. The evidence is squarely with the scientists. QED. Btw, "climategate" scientists behavior was deemed to have no effect on the outcome of the climate research. This cult of climate denial goes hand-in-hand with the irrational climate today. The app is solid. Get it.

Skeptical Science is the go-to site to compare overheated claims by climate "skeptics" to what the primary scientific literature actually says. The app itself is slick and continuously upgraded. The 1 star reviews are predictably from those very "skeptics", so dont let them fool you.

The science can be a bit complicated on a few of the items, but its an excellent resource nonetheless.

first I want to address the an argument another reviewer made that, scientist get paid to find Global Warming. By who? who is paying them for this? Im not. The Solar and wind companies are largely funded by big oil and the likes so there not. publishers dont care about content as much as sales and the last I checked it was Rush Limbaughs book that sold millions not a single scientific journal comes close so there not. The answer could be Universities but the last I checked they were loosing money across the country for this necessary research. The same reviewer said that scientist arent getting paid to say global warming doesnt exist. O yes they are. Almost all of the scientific data that has came out against global warming has been funded by companies like BP and Exon. So do me a favor read the info and the sources in this app and stop watching Fox. This is an amazing app all sources are accounted for and they all link directly to scientific journals not news reports. Those who say the info is difficult to understand are not digging deep enough into the app. there is a lot of valid and readable info however this depends on the route of the skeptics argument. Also one should note that by reading many of the sources will inform a person to understand others better. Amazing app one of the best I have seen even the UI is wonderful. love it love it love it!! everyone should have it, and should read from it so we all understand what is going on with our world. Thank you building this I hope it helps change the minds of many.

A good app with one exception. I would call those who question global climate change "Deniers" and not "skeptics". A skeptic is someone who looks at the data, evidence and research to come to a conclusion. A denier doesnt care about those things- their minds are already decided and no amount of evidence will change it.

Very well executed -- relies on peer reviewed sources and provides links to journal articles when available. For several topics, provides varying depth of explanation -- for both the novice or those interested in acquiring a high level of expertise. Hard to do better than this online. What many fail to understand is that science is debated by those doing the actual work in refereed arenas -- the scientific journals. A lot of the stuff available online is amateur, politically oriented junk. If you really want to seriously begin digging into this topic, and want to bypass all the junk science out there, this is a great place to start!

New update is corrupt and wont launch.

With the latest update, I had to uninstall the app and then reinstall to make it work. Great job on updating it for the iphone 4 retina display!

Awesome app for having discussions with the ignorant rubes who deny global warming science (also known as talking to a wall, as thats about the depth of their intellect; and I know thats an insult...to the wall!). The ignorant rube group includes many of the one star ratings, except possibly for those complaining that the most recent version wont start, which is actually true if it was installed over an older version. To fix that, simply uninstall and reinstall. While youre at it, uprate this app to overcome the low ratings from the unintelligentsia.

This is a great app that contains just about everything you need to know to rebut the arguments of Global Warming deniers. The app is very well designed and attractive. One of the best freebies Ive found for the iPhone. Get it!!!

Latest update crashes, ... doesnt even load. Absolutely useless. Had to delete it.

Ok. I now realize that the site is far from balanced, I kinda knew that. The new app though will not even launch! Come on guys, get your act together!

The articles on each "skeptical" claim have cited sources, graphs, and detailed explanations.

Very informative and a quick go-to source of legit info regarding climate change. For those who are experiencing crashing on launch, delete the app and redownload it. This is documented on the front page of the developers support site.

I love it but dont get to use it much with others. However, being more of a thinker than a believer, I like to have real research to explain what is going on in the environment. Can we please stop all the tv news people from announcing the end of climate change after every snowstorm?
